Down Royal Golf Club

Down Royal Golf Club is a proprietary club playing at Down Royal Park Golf Course. This is a young club, founded in 1997 and affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland the next year. The course was opened by the late great Fred Daly OBE in 1989. It is one of the longest in Northern Ireland. The 2nd hole is one of the most difficult Par 5 holes anywhere. The 13th hole has a green with more than its fair share of water.

Located in the Lagan Valley at The Maze near Lisburn the course lies within the perimiter of Down Royal Race Course which was granted a Royal Charter in 1684 by James II.
